Spring Ephemerals Walk 4.18.26

Spring Ephemerals Walk 4.18.26
Saturday, April 18th, 2-4pm.
Guided Woodland Walk.
Spring has sprung! This is a time of great optimism, when the changing landscape seems miraculous. Join founding naturalist Laura Chávez Silverman for an exploration of a riparian ecosystem to observe the ephemeral plants of spring, many of which can only be observed for a few weeks at this time of year. Edible and medicinal plants you will encounter include ramps, trout lilies, violets, field garlic, dogwood, knotweed, Dutchman’s breeches and bloodroot. Soak up the phytoncides (beneficial compounds emitted by plants) and celebrate the new season. A light trail snack is included. Space is limited; advance registration is required.
Location: Mongaup Valley Wildlife Management Area near Pond Eddy, NY. Details will be emailed directly to participants.
Of note: This is a rain or shine event, unless notified otherwise.
