Guided Nature Walks for Earth Day at The Callicoon Depot

Join us for one of two guided walks offered through the riparian landscape in Callicoon in celebration of Earth Day. We’ll marvel at all the new life emerging along the river, identify lots of edible and medicinal species and explore the seasonal biodiversity. Learn some indigenous history and maybe even a few words of Lenape. Possible sightings include black walnut, sumac, coltsfoot, mugwort, wild grape, stinging nettle, field garlic, garlic mustard and more.

Location: Meet at Callicoon Depot, 40 Lower Main Street. Walks will start at 11am and at 2pm.

Of note: The Earth Day event is ongoing from 10am-4pm with local organizations offering presentations on sustainability and environmental stewardship. More details here.
