Foliage & Foraging Walk 10.6.24

$35.00

Sunday, October 6th, 10am-12pm.

Guided group walk.

Join founding naturalist Laura Chávez Silverman to explore the natural wonders of the fall landscape, including the beauty of the changing leaves. Observe and learn about native and introduced spices, such as pitcher plants, sassafras, wintergreen and assorted mushrooms. We will discuss edible and medicinal properties, nibbling as we go. A wild-flavored trail snack is included. Space is limited and registration is required.

Location: Sussex, NJ (near Port Jervis); details will be emailed to participants.

Of note: This outing takes place just outside Sullivan County in a rare Atlantic cedar swamp. Part of our time together will be spent honoring the indigenous people of Lenapehoking and the healing traditions they passed on to colonizing populations.
