Foliage & Foraging Walk 10.11.26
Sunday, October 11th, 10am-12pm.
Guided group walk in celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
Join founding naturalist Laura Chávez Silverman to explore the natural wonders of the fall landscape, including the beauty of the changing leaves. Observe and learn about native and introduced species, such as sassafras, wintergreen and assorted mushrooms. We will discuss edible and medicinal properties, nibbling as we go. A wild-flavored trail snack is included. Space is limited and registration is required.
Location: Sullivan County, NY; details will be emailed to participants.
Of note: Part of our time together will be spent honoring the indigenous people of Lënapehòkink and the plant knowledge and healing traditions they shared with colonizing populations.
