Flora & Foraging Walk 7.12.26

Flora & Foraging Walk 7.12.26
Wild Edibles & Plant ID Walk - Sunday, July 12th, 10am-12pm
Eat from the land and you will experience the profound delights of wild terroir! There is a unique joy found foraging in your own backyard—knowing how to identify, gather and prepare these ingredients will exponentially increase your connection to the place you call home.
Join founding naturalist Laura Chávez Silverman for a walk through the summer landscape to learn how to identify local flora, including what is edible and medicinal. Will we see blueberries, raspberries, St. John’s wort, hazelnuts and milkweed? All this and much more is possible, depending on the whims of Mother Nature. We’ll also discuss best practices for harvesting and thus learn more about how to understand an ecosystem. A light trail snack is included. Space is limited; registration is required.
Location: Bethel, NY. All details will be emailed directly to participants.
Of note: This is a rain or shine event, unless advance notice is given. Terrain is easy; all ages and abilities are welcome.
