Itinerary: Among the many things we have planned…

SALT FLATS: Visit a rare biosphere where the island’s delicious flor de sal has been collected since the time of the Phoenicians. Observe this ancient artisanal process as we walk the sunlit salt flats and hear from a local pro how this natural element remains a cornerstone for human health, pleasure and trade in a global-local, slow craft world.

BIODYNAMIC VINEYARD: Spend the morning with a pioneering vintner who cultivates indigenous grape varietals using biodynamic, regenerative principles. Cati is a respected and beloved player in the local wine-making community, tending to life, work and family with remarkable resilience and integrity. We’ll enjoy a guided tasting of natural wines that express the unique terroir of the island, followed by a farm-to-table lunch that completes this quintessential Mallorqui experience.

PREHISTORIC SETTLEMENT: Explore the remnants of a Bronze Age community at one of Mallorca’s most significant archaeological sites. Learn about the island’s ancient culture and ponder the evolving relationship between humans and the landscape, including where our socio-economic hierarchies and development have led us.

HERITAGE BASKET-WEAVING: Join a local craftswoman in her atelier, where she practices a traditional weaving style learned from the abuelas. After foraging for indigenous palm, we’ll learn a simple weaving technique and create our own small pieces while we discuss the challenges of cultural preservation and sustainable business.

OLIVE & ALMOND GROVES: Wander the grounds of a splendid working finca dedicated to regenerative agriculture. Hear the life story of two worldly executives who found their way to this land, where they have built a more natural, considered existence based around agro-ecological practices that restore and support biodiversity. (And taste their incredible harvests!)

FORAGING WALK & LUNCH: Guided by a local expert in edible flora, we’ll learn to identify native greens and medicinal herbs. A plant-forward lunch crafted from foraged ingredients will follow so we can savor the island’s edible biodiversity and seasonal abundance. If time allows, we will jump in to help with the prepping and cooking!

BOTANICAL DISTILLATION: A master distiller and herbalist shares his knowledge of the ancient art and modern science of plant distillation. We’ll learn how a copper still transforms wild botanicals into hydrosols and essential oils, then discover their uses for wellbeing and ritual. Those receptive to subtle esoteric practices may also wish to explore constellation work, meditation and more.

COASTAL STONE: Mares is the local sandstone used in much of the island’s traditional architecture. We’ll make our way down the scenic cliffs where mares was harvested to build the Palma Cathedral and soak up the wild beauty of this seaside spot.
