Mongaup River Trail 3.2.19

Mongaup River Trail 3.2.19

Saturday, March 2nd, 1:30-3:30pm.

Guided walk along the Mongaup River.

Laura Silverman, Founding Naturalist at TOI, leads a walk for fellow naturalists interested in exploring the wonders of the winter landscape. Observe and learn about native plants, trees and other natural phenomena, including wild rhododendron, grape vines, lichen and a beaver dam. Visit a small private cemetery from the early 1800s. Space is limited and registration is required. A fortifying trail snack is included.

Location: Mongaup River Trail and the intersection of Routes 97 and 31 in Deerpark, NY. GPS coordinates and details will be emailed to participants.

Of note: We will not walk in extreme weather. Due to the amount of precipitation this season, terrain can be wet and muddy, so appropriate footwear is essential.
